1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies — local storage, for instance — do much the same job. They let a site remember things between page loads, and let us count visits.
2. Cookies we use on this site
Essential
A small number of cookies and storage entries are needed for the site to work and to keep it secure — for example, protecting our forms from abuse. The site cannot function properly without these, so they are not optional.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics, through Firebase, to see which pages are visited and how people arrive here. It sets cookies that give your browser a random identifier and record page views, approximate location (from your IP address, at city level), device type, and referring site.
We use this to work out which parts of the site are useful and which are not. We do not use it to identify you by name, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
3. What we do not use
There are no advertising cookies on this site, no third-party ad networks, no cross-site tracking pixels, and no cookies that sell or share your data with data brokers.
4. Turning analytics off
You can opt out of analytics in any of these ways:
- Install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Block or delete cookies for this site in your browser settings. Every major browser lets you do this, and lets you block third-party cookies generally.
- Use your browser's tracking protection, or a content blocker. We do not try to work around them.
Blocking analytics cookies does not break the site. Blocking essential cookies may stop forms working.
5. Cookies inside the Allotix application
The Allotix application itself — the system your institution logs into — uses cookies and storage strictly to keep you signed in and to keep your session secure. It does not run advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
6. Changes and contact
If we add or remove a cookie category, we will update this page and the date at the top of it. Questions about cookies or analytics: [email protected]. How the resulting data is handled is covered in our Privacy Policy.
